About Us
Headed Home in the Heartland is a multi-faceted animal welfare organization whose purpose is:
- To assist abandoned, homeless or impounded animals by placing them with animal rescue organizations.
- To help fund vetting, medications, immunizations, behavioral training, health certificates and any other required or needed item to help the animal gain rescue placement and transport the animal to an animal rescue organization.
- To transport abandoned, homeless, unwanted or impounded animals to animal rescue organizations.
- To otherwise assist animals by any means consistent with the above-stated purposes.
- To promote responsible pet ownership and prevent animal cruelty by assisting with medical, dietary, or veterinary needs for animals who are at risk, homeless or unwanted.
We are an volunteer non-profit organization, from our transport drivers to the staff, that relies entirely on donations to achieve our mission.
